FAQS
How It Works
Soak the vest in cold water, wring it out until it's damp rather than dripping, and clip it on. As the water evaporates it draws heat away from your dog's chest and back — the same principle that makes you feel cold stepping out of a pool. The mesh panels keep air moving through the fabric so evaporation keeps working while your dog is on the move.
Expect roughly 45–60 minutes of active cooling on a hot day, and less if your dog is running hard or the humidity is high. When it starts to feel dry to the touch, re-wet it and carry on.
Pro tip: dampen the vest and give it 20 minutes in the freezer before you head out. You get a proper cold hit on the way out the door, which is when it matters most.
Finding the Right Size
Sizing is where most cooling vests go wrong, so it's worth two minutes with a tape measure. Chest is the measurement that matters most — measure around the widest part of your dog's chest, just behind the front legs.
Size — Neck / Chest / Back length (cm)
S — 38 / 45–58 / 27
M — 43 / 48–68 / 33
L — 50 / 60–85 / 40
XL — 60 / 65–102 / 48
2XL — 69 / 80–115 / 55
3XL — 73 / 84–145 / 63
Back length runs from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. The chest ranges overlap, so if your dog's chest falls into two sizes, use back length to decide — and if you're still between sizes, go up. A slightly loose vest still cools; a tight one won't sit right and your dog won't tolerate wearing it.
Please note this vest starts at a 45cm chest, so it isn't suitable for toy breeds like chihuahuas, toy poodles or very small terriers.
If it doesn't fit, we'll swap it. Free.
Care & Re-wetting
Rinse with cool water after use and hang it to dry. Don't leave it balled up damp in a bag — that's how any wet fabric ends up smelling.
Machine washable on a cold, gentle cycle. No tumble drying, no ironing, no bleach.
There are no gels, crystals or chemical coolants inside, so there is nothing to leak, nothing to replace and nothing to worry about if your dog decides to chew a corner. It runs on water.
Using It Safely
A cooling vest is a comfort aid, not a substitute for common sense in the heat. Always give your dog shade and fresh water, avoid walking in the hottest part of the day, and check the pavement with the back of your hand before you set off.
Keep an eye on your dog while the vest is on and take it off if they seem bothered by it. If your dog is very young, elderly, unwell, or a flat-faced breed, have a quick chat with your vet about what's appropriate for them.
If you ever see heavy or frantic panting, drooling, wobbliness, vomiting or collapse, stop, move to shade and contact a vet immediately — those are signs of a genuine emergency and no product is a treatment for it.
